Want to swap your LM Sedan for an LM drop top?

forsale needpart

I have recently had a renewed interest in building a daily driver/autocross/pro-touring style LM coupe (or sedan). I really do like the styling of the sedans (I am missing the gene that says I shouldn't love them).

I am really shaky about doing the dormobile- I want to wait to get that until I have a 100% windproof and weatherproof area for it to reside in (enclosed garage space).

Does anyone have any interest in trading a 65-69 coupe/65-67 sedan for my 66 convertible? I'm not looking to trade for a gem- I know my car isn't perfect and needs it's fair share of love. I have no issue trading down a little bit for a car that needs love too. I'd really prefer if the car were a manual (better for auto-x), but I could be persuaded into a PG.

If its a really big problem, I can keep the Rallye wheels, tires, and Volvo seats and you can keep the tires, wheels, and seats out of your car.

Moderators, feel free to delete this if you'd prefer me adding it to the previous thread.

This is the look I'm going for eventually, except slightly lower and IROC wheels.

Ok, I lied.
I really want a 65-67 sedan.
A 500 would be even better.

I absolutely love the lines of this car and the convenience of 4 doors.

It's refreshing to have someone young who is enthusiastic around.

I don't have a car for you, but like the plan you have going there.

I think I know someone with a 4 door, will check and see if he's interested. Would do it if I had one because I think I might be alergic to 4 doors.

I lowered it a little since the pic you posted up top but most people want to go lower yet. You have to consider my wife drives this and sometimes forgets it doesn't have the ground clearance of her Yukon XL. winking smiley

It's a shame but more-doors get parted out around here because they are worth more in pieces than whole.

Here it is last weekend at a local show.

Just so you know Dave, your car is currently my screen-saver... I love the paint matched BBS wheels.

IMO, the LM four door hard top sedan is one
Of the best looking four doors ever
produced.

For all interested parties, I have located/acquired the following parts for the car as well:

- Pair of solid and complete 65-66 coupe/vert doors with great vent windows
- Better-than-whats-on-the-car door hinges
- Excellent original black top boot and unmolested top boot trim
- Set of door, trunk, and ignition cylinders keyed alike (1965)
- Both rear wheel arches (the 66's have started to have crust on them)
- Driver's rear light section (lack of a good body gasket allowed water to sit)
- Windshield trim and windshield header trim in nice condition
- Good used e-brake cable (front half on the 66 snapped)
- 13" 2 bar wire wheel covers

Guys, please don't think I'm looking for a gem here....
I think the convertible is in the $2500 ballpark for value, if you think your car isn't good enough (or too nice smiling smiley ).
If you don't want those parts, I have not picked them up or paid for them yet, so you don't have to take them. A buddy of mine is parting a 65 corsa convertible and he happens to have a bunch of parts I thought would be useful.

'65 ignition cylinder won't work in a '66 switch.

My friend has a 66 4 door 500, 140, 4 speed, factory air car, he says he would be interested in a trade for the vert. He says it needs bodywork he puts his value $2000-2500 so you two are not that far apart on price just 700 miles or so in distance. If you could make a trip to Helen Ga for Springfest I think he will be there too and could bring the car. If you're interested I'll get you two in touch.
