I was just curious if when you order a rebuilt tranny if they install a functioning back up switch?

Not to my knowledge,but if you need one thats the time to get it.

Let us know how your rebuilt tranny works if you get one. I am curious how smooth one can be as I have never had a 'new' Vair. Is yours just grinding into 2nd or what?

I installed a low mile '66 transaxle last July in mine (~30K on it). It may not be smooth by today's standards, but is was the smoothest and quietest '66-69 four-speed trans I have driven.

I ordered a rebuilt 65 4 speed for my 65 corsa 140 from corvair underground. It took them about a month to get it here cause "their workers got sick". They also painted it for me. So far it looks good but we will see how it performs.
