Yeah, I still listen to his great tunes VIA USB and CD in the Vert. Great that he lived to a ripe old age. God bless him.

He has just, or about to, release his most recent album. Guess I'll have to buy it.

I saw that earlier and am extremely saddened by his loss as a musician and enjoyer of classic rock.

God rest his soul. We were lucky to have him around for as long as we did.

Our lives are better for having shared our time with him. The music, from however long ago, still makes me smile and start to dance along to it.
Right to the end, he was true to the genre.
Thanks, Chuck. Well done!

Sorry to see him go but he lived a long and amazing life. His music inspired and informed all of the rockers that came after him. You can still hear his influence in some of today’s music. His "demo" to the record company was Maybelline, some demo. Another icon gone.

Still enjoy listening to the live album "London Chuck Berry Sessions" now and then. Fun stuff. Had a sound all his own for sure.

I will continue to cherish the time I saw him live at the Mosque (aka Altria Theater) in Richmond, VA. Great acoustics and a great performer!!!! He did all his greatest hits and the duck walk.

A true legend!thumbs up

He was my neighbor for 4 months in the 1970's. Well... he actually lived up the road a couple miles! Was serving 4 months for tax evasion the Lompoc Federal Prison.eye rolling smiley
When he was released, only Walter Cronkite pronounced "Lompoc" correctly. It's pronounced Lom-Poke. Even Dan Rather standing at the front gate, right there said Lom-Pahk! He made the same mistake when H. R. Haldeman was let lose from Lompoc! What a loser reporter!

Well, some of us learned our pronunciation of "Lompoc" from W.C. Fields.

Regarding Chuck Berry, one major newspaper 'round here ran the headline, "Is Chuck Berry the First Rocker to Die of Old Age?"

"Is Chuck Berry the First Rocker to Die of Old Age?"

That was one of the first thoughts I had. Lots of dead drugs crazed nuts are gone.

They have been playing a lot of Chuck's stuff on Sirius the last few days. What I didn't know was that he was planning on releasing his first album in more than 30 years during 2017. It will supposedly still be released this summer.

I had forgotten that he was the first inductee into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame too.
Quite an accomplishment in that one item alone.
