Corvair Rampside needed for Gilmore Car Museum display

Howdy all, I have been a volunteer at the Gilmore Car Museum (Hickory Corners, MI) for many years and was talking about a new year-long special exhibit of trucks with staff who know my love of all orphan cars and especially Corvairs. I have owned several Corvairs in the past including a 1963 Spyder conv. owned for 35+ years. The museum (display slated to start on May 1st, 2017) is looking for a Corvair Rampside for the exhibit and asked me to inquire here to see if one might be available. This is such an honor and opportunity to promote the Corvair name, especially since the specific request for a Rampside came from one of the exhibit's organizers. Pickup must be stock and restored or a clean original. For further details please contact JFollis@GilmoreCarMuseum.org or call the Museum at 269-671-5089 and ask for Jay Follis referencing the truck exhibit. Thanks, Bob

That's a beautiful Rampside, though.

Try contacting Steve Turner of the Battle Creek area. He has a nice one. He is active with the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club.

Another thought I had was Cal Clark of Clark's Corvair Parts, they just completely restored one a few years ago, it is perfect, I have no idea if they would be open to displaying it for a year.

Thanks Ryan, Steve T is a regular at Gilmore and I'll suggest that he be contacted. I'm guessing that Cal inhabits this forum, yes?

I believe Jay Leno has a Rampside also. He might be open to a year long display.

Dave Munaco of the DACC has a perfect Rampside that has won "best of show" twice at our annual Homecoming. He never drives it anymore as it is too nice to beat up. Try him at 586-244-3528
