Hey Richard, I plan on attending. I'll bring my recently acquired FASTRAX alignment
equipment and slider plates for anyone wanting to verify/adjust camber/caster/toe.

We had a crowd despite the rain overnight. A couple of folks made use of the lift and others made repairs in shop. After getting started around 9 this morning, we broke for lunch and then went back to the shop. Before we knew it, it was almost 6:00. Almost everything that was broken was repaired with the exception of a front engine main seal. Steve Phillips brought his Fast Trax alignment system and demonstrated how it worked.

A few pics, we'll do it again around June!

Always fun when a bunch of Corvair folks get together to work on Corvairs and there is food involved. Keep up the great work Richard. Any additional information on the alignment system?

Great job. What kind of Corvair is under the tarp? Looks like a Pontiac.

The camber/caster/toe alignment equipment is Specialty Products Co. FasTrax,
part number 91000 and the Toe Adapter Kit, part number 91100. I got mine from
O'Reilly Auto Parts, but you can find it other places like Amazon.
Here's the youtube instructional video:

I use 12" X 12" turn plates from Gil Smith Racing Fabrication:

[gilsmithracingfab.com]

For the caster and toe measurement, I use a bungee cord to attach the FasTrax
tool to the wheel. Turn plates can get pretty expensive. The least expensive
I found used to be available at Harbor Freight, but were discontinued.
The Gil Smith turn plates are relatively inexpensive and work very well for my
purposes.

If you want to save some $$, you can fabricate your own turn plates, see below
link. I did and they were functional, but I decided to step up my game to the more
professional Gil Smith turn plates. If you want to go full out bubba style, just throw
some sand down under the wheels.
