Posted by: mattlockwood ()
Date: November 07, 2016 05:18AM

Hello Corvair people:

on the hunt for parts to mount a 110hp and powerglide in my VW bus. If anyone is aware of any Hadley transvair or other parts for this conversion, please let me know.

Thank you

I should clarify: parts that would work for an IRS transaxle. Thank you

Hi Matt,I have a Transvair IRS bus kit that I believe is complete except wiring.
But it is for a manual trans, not the Powerglide. PM me if interested.

Clarifying: it's a 1970 Bus, so it uses a tranny with IRS axles. Clerks still has the axle adapters, just need tranny mount and engine support bar

I have Transvair parts to sell
Posted by: Vern in Bend ()

forsale

I wasn't able to search through all of the 'stuff' until now, and I've located all of my of Transvair parts.

Unfortunately, I cannot immediately evaluate all of what I have, but I will sort through it, see what I can put together. I am not interested in braving the pre-Christmas shipping zoo, anyway, and I am juggling a number of domestic projects.

My preliminary assessment is there are parts from three kits, including 3 engine support bars and 3 basic trans brackets, and a pile of mount parts.

The front (transmission) mounts are not simple, as combinations of a basic mount, adapter plate or machined block, spacers and bolt hardware are used to create an assembly to fit any of the available Vair transmissions. I have the installation literature and I'm sure I can put together what is needed for a particular trans setup.

I THINK I will be able to do up to (2) PG or (2) 4-spd mount assemblies. This is part of what I have to work out.

I see a couple of pairs of heater adapter plates. There is a complete, unused Clarks exhaust set. It's the same as their former FC dual exhaust setup.

I MAY have one used CV adapter set. I have to evaluate whether they are serviceable.

I will NOT have any shift or clutch linkage/parts at this time.

I am putting this info out now in order that the folks who are looking for Transvair parts will know that some will soon be available. I will post more info (with pictures and asking prices) as I sort it out. Please don't ask "How Much?" yet, as I don't know. Thanks for your patience, comments and questions are welcome.

Regards, Vern
