Rampside Bed Body Plug

I found a plug that fits!! Some of you may already know this, but not as far as I could tell from my recent queries. I needed to replace my 3 gray plastic plugs (driver's side Ramp bed), but they are not available. [OK, Clark's has them, but Cal cut them (ALL!) in half "to fit better" (!?!?), and the company's mold is not fit for making any more]. After much searching, I found some excellent black rubber oval body plugs (3.5" x 2") that fit perfectly (see picture). They are from LMC Truck, #40-1290, $2.95 each (F3 catalog, pg.32: "Firewall/Floor Body Plug, 61-66 Ford F100/F250 Truck"). They don't match 'Stock', of course, but they fit nice, look good & keep water/dirt out.

Nice! I bought the "pre-cut" one piece ones from Clarks and the ones that didn't fracture on installation didn't last a day in the sun. I will give the LMC grommets a try. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the information. Bought half dozen for Vairdeb's '63 Rampside 'cause they're missing (three as spares). Original plastic plugs crumbled to bits long ago.

Here's the catalog page:

That's a good one! I've specifically not bought Clark's because of the "cut in half" design.

Probably one of the dumbest features that GM created on FC's.
Vans don't suffer, but the trucks did.

This was perfect info. Thanks. I looked all over Clarks for a solution and then found this here with just the right search terms.

Here is where I ordered mine.
