Welcome to the CCF!

Start a NEW TOPIC and Tell us where you are and ATTACH some pics! Then we can follow you in your journey!

Piece of advice.... as a newbie..... Wash the car... clean it up inside....

Put an engine in it and get it registered in your name FIRST.... then drive it one Summer and decide if this is the vehicle you want to invest a lot more time and $$$ into...

You want to LEARN the car BEFORE rebuilding.... factory resto or Resto-Mod.... find out what you have first..

I was sorta surprised they ditched the AC without mentioning it. One minute there are vents on the dash, at the end they're gone. Especially in California.

No, a 140 appears to have been in the car as it was bought. Below is a screen shot of the engine as Edd pulled the body off ......

Let's just keep in mind... Positive international media attention is a good thing! First "Wheeler Dealers" and now Chip Foose. I've been waiting and hoping for this kind of attention for a very long time.smileys with beer

Producers of the show pay labor out of their end of profits from selling show to network. If you want to know true cost of what they are building time what they say on episode by 2.5

Craig replies:
There are several threads from about five days ago.

Foose going over the car click here

The car being driven North... (scroll down in the linked thread)

And there's a sketch on FB

Putting these together, it would seem that Foose is doing a Corvair but I haven't heard that "Overhaulin'" is part of the program.

I sometimes have that trouble on my PC because I'm used to clicking "twice" to select something. Double click generates the "Spam" warning.

Thanks Matt for the youTube link! First time I've seen the show. Not bad.

Kinda makes one wonder who on here asking questions could have been or will be building a Corvair for a TV show or celebrity.

Wait one! Was not the car sold for $18K on the show, or is my memory slipping?

Who is the person listing the car, Eddie Barbini, and what is his connection, if any to the Wheeler Dealers show? I ask as he says in the ad:

We started with a relatively rust-free body, and had it professionally finished in two-stage Sea Foam Green.

Who is we?

The guy that bought the Vair I have seen on Overhaulin' as a member of the project team. It was a sham sale on WD.

I love watching those car shows but they have become so staged and unreal, not really for those who have an idea of what goes into a restoration or placing a real value on a car.

Being a Brit, Wheeler Dealer is one of my favorite shows but I don't take it too seriously.

As I remember on the first shows from England.... they bought a rough beater that had quick potential and patched / repaired them to just resell as they had bought, but at a profit.

This season it's more like a "custom shop".

And yes they missed the "look" for America..especially on the west coast... IMO!

Wheeler Dealers is produced for Velocity by Discovery Studios and Eddie Barbini is an executive producer for Discovery Studios.
