() Date: February 27, 2005 07:58AM I tried to back the car out of the garage yesterday but I could not engage reverse, I also seem to be able to get first in 2 different locations, 1 were first should be and 2 where reverse should be. What's going on here? Chris NTCA CORSA "64 Monza 'vert 4 speed Re: help no reverse Posted by:

() Date: February 27, 2005 09:52AM I agree with Matt.. I just went through the same problem with my '66. Not sure if the early shift linkage is the same, but after you check out the flexible joint by the trans, try replacing the bushings in the shifter tube. And don't forget adjustment.. you may be able to just play with the shifter adjustment and temporarily fix the problem. -Vince Re: help no reverse Posted by:

() Date: February 27, 2005 01:09PM A loose clamp on shifter shaft just forward of transaxle could be culprit or possibly, as others had mentioned, a disintegrated flexible coupler. A worn pin and holes on shift coupler could also cause the same problem. Or worse, a sheared roll pin within transmission. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
