62 Monza sedan - Bought it! NOW Driving it!
Posted by: Paulsgt ()

My name is Paul and I buy Corvairs...confused smiley

Today is my birthday and to treat myself, I paid the man for the 62 Monza sedan I have been coveting. I've been looking for an original 62 cloth seat Monza for a long time. I've even bid on a few that were posted on ebay. This one was almost right in my own backyard. Just 30 min from my house. We'll call it a "barn find". It's been sitting in the same spot since around 1998. It appears to be an all-original, Oakland built, 62 Monza sedan in silver blue with the monza cloth interior. The odometer reads 28,313. I believe that to be accurate based on my thorough inspection of the rest of the car. I know, no pics, it didn't happen. Well, it's in a spot that is very hard to photograph. I'll go pick it up in a few days and there will be plenty of photos. Is there any help for this?

There is no known cure for Corvairitis. Please enjoy it as long as you can!grinning smiley

I would suggest a twelve step process for a cure, but then you will be buying 9 more!eye popping smiley

Hi Eric,
Not thinning the heard. At least right now. I've never owned an EM that I could drive. We'll see...

What a beautiful survivor! thumbs up Gotta love that cool cloth interior. Got to feel like you're driving a mini-Cadillac, eh?

Thought you all might like to see the original bill of sale for this 62 Monza. With all the documentation I received, I have determined that I am the 4th owner. It has traveled only 8,000 miles since 1977 when it was sold by it's original owner.

Going to start a "resurrection" topic soon.

I love that the original owner traded in a '47 Packard for it. Talk about night and day!

And the dealer sold the Packard for $125.00. Times have changed for sure.

I am curious about the white top. Would that have been painted like that from the factory and if so, would it be noted in the body tag?
