Hi Al,
I'm probably misunderstanding what is in your FC currently. Are you missing the part of the steel line that extends across the cross-brace? Originally main fuel line ended where the "U" bend occurs, in front of the hole on the right side of the cross brace , through which the hose from the tank extended to connect with the fuel line. So everything between the yellow dots in your diagram is rubber hose.

Steve attached are photos of my line. The front connected is beaded but not sure if factory during to heavy compression behind bead. The rubber hose on the rearward section is 2 hoses joined with a piece of line. As you can see, quite a wrinkled line I have to work with as a template. That is why I am not sure if the line is suppose to go further forward than the 4" in front of the cross brace.

Next post will show clip I was referring to.

I pressurized the original tank to 3 psi with it full of water. There was no leaks from the tank. Tank has been emptied and is drying out. Exterior is cleaned as best can be and Rust Fix applied. 1st coat of Duplicolor RockGuard Satin rocker paint has been applied.

Front section of new line has been cut for length.

Still waiting on pump to come in.

Rick and I looked over brake line situation on the van. Decision has been made to install a dual master cylinder on it along with all new lines and hoses.

Reviewed all discussions on the dual master cylinder installation. Don't want to use a smaller bore so the car MC is out. Controlling costs so a kit from a vendor is out.

Looks like the 67 Nova dual MC is the best of all MCs to use. Has bolt on cap, has 1" bore and ports will be on right when installed. This way lines to splitters are running close to frame and not out in the open.

Only issue is primary port is 9/16-18 versus the 1/2-20. Easy fix with 1/4" line to splitter. I have a LM splitter that will accommodate the line size change.

O'Reilly's has a BrakeBest dual master cylinder for the 1967 Chevy Nova, also, that is the same configuration as the CarQuest MC. Part number is NMC11372. It was quicker to get from O'Reilly's and my discount made it equal cost. It will be here tomorrow morning. Time to order some 1/4" copper nickel brake line.

That '67 Nova MC is the same as the '67 thru '9 Corvair MC. It was also used on most of the other GM cars of the time.

The 68 I scrapped did not have this type MC on it. It had the bail wire type cover. I wanted the bolt down cover for the Greenbrier to make cover removal/installation easy through the floorboard hole.

We picked up the BrakeBest dual MC from O'Reilly's on Friday. Still waiting on 1/4" copper nickel brake line. Greenbrier brakes MC & lines are on hold until I complete the brakes on the More Door.

Electric fuel pump was received earlier this week. All parts on hand to replace fuel line and add electric fuel pump.

Found the 1/4" tubing to 3/16" tubing brake line splitter block today. Also installed new sender in gas tank with new gasket (o-ring) and nut. Old sender was working, so it is a spare.

Will have a little time tomorrow to work on Greenbrier, as connectors and speakers have not arrived for the More Door radio project.

I made a decision regarding fuel pumps on the Greenbrier. I was keeping mechanical with electric backup. However Rick failed a NOS mechanical yesterday. Internal spring failed. He now has the Greenbrier pump I bought from California on his More Door.

I will go electric only on the Greenbrier, like my cars. I will reroute lines to front of engine compartment to clean up the compartment. The square body pump has been received and work will start once I get replacement brake lines installed. That work starts today.

Got the old MC and main lines of the van. I decided since I have enough 1/4" line, lines from MC to splitter blocks will be 1/4". All parts needed bagged and ready for assembly.

Went to bleed new MC and found O'Reillys sold ne alternate to the 69 Nova bolt on cover MC. Having search down the one I asked for a month ago. I checked a seller on eBay and asked if the one they were advertising was a bolt on cover and they said their stated all details on the item and photo was a stock photo. Well, they didn't get a sale as a alternate could be sold even though the stock photo showed what I wanted. Found another MC and sent another message. Hopefully I will find someone with one. There are about 100 sellers with MCs with several p/ns I can use and it will be hard to locate one this way.

I kept searching and found a bolt on cover MC for the 67 Nova at Advance Auto Online. Further searching said it was in stock in Pooler 22 miles away. Quick call revealed online info was wrong. But clerk looked around and found one in Garden City, 29 miles away. He confirmed it was there in that store. I called the store and that clerk confirmed it was a bolt on cover. Donna, Sugar and I took a trip and picked it up. Work on brakes will continue tomorrow with lines being made Monday.

The bail wire model sold to me by O'Reillys will be returned Monday.

The MC from Advanced Auto is a Carquest Wearever Master Cylinder, Part# MCA64986

Did a little work on this van. Bleed the replacement dual master cylinder and tried to install it. Seems someone welded a 1/4" steel plate right where the aft line port will be located. The plate hung down about 2 inches and had no holes in it. A quick job for the side grinder and it was trimmed back to the frame.

Installed the dual master cylinder and connected the brake pedal linkage. Time to do lines next. Photos show the 67 Nova MC installed.

Also ordered all parts needed to fully wire up electric fuel pump relay, power light and power switch similar to what I did on the More Door. Parts should be here this week, but all is depending on shipping companies.

Rick !nd I got 4 0f the 6 brake lines made today. Front and rear lines to junction lines made from 1/4" copper nickel tubing and installed. Junction blocks changed out to accomodat ether 1/4" lines. Rear brake lines were made and installed. Rear brake hoses were changed out due to rotted look they exhibited.

Front wheel cylinders will be done in a few days. For now, I will change out brake hoses and get old hard lines out to use as samples. Rick will help with these lines, when I am ready for his help to get front selection of main fuel line installed.

During rear brake line installation, we had to remove body harness from rear to mid van and the left emergency brake cable to get line routing right and to clear a couple fouls.

Removed heater hoses today as they provided additional access to install brake lines. Hoses will be replaced as they are dryer hoses. I have one more set of hoses I made from the 25 foot length I bought last year. It also had clamps of different styles and screw head types/hex sizes. This will be remedied with 4 worm clamps using same size hex head.

Rear section of main fuel line fitted to van. Some additional bending was needed to clear emergency brake cable bracket and to fit clips. One more adjustment to align end more closely to line going to carbs. A redesign of carb lines has been discussed and agreed as best course. Due to air cleaner setup, a change form the LM Vair setup is deemed to be necessary. A photo of configuration will be posted when done.

We think we had some good progress today.

Today, I replaced the front wheel cylinder hoses. I also made up new lines for the front. Lines are connected to hoses. Just need final cut add nut, then flare to do final connection at front block.

Bent and manipulated main fuel line front section of tubing. It is now ready for beading and clipping into frame clips. I will add a couple since one was broken and another I can't see one ever being there.

Identified pump location. I will mount tomorrow and start wiring for the pump circuit.
