() Date: February 21, 2005 03:07PM The Speedometer is broken on the current dash I have for my '63 monza convert. I'm trying to remove the light switch and ignition switch to use in a working speedo dash. Can you pull the light switch knob off? How? How do you get the ignition switch out? Thanks, Tom C Re: Help needed for removing light switch and ignition switch Posted by:

() Date: February 21, 2005 03:32PM For the light switch, pull knob to the on position, then reach under dash and feel for the switch. There is a little button on top of the switch. Press and hold it as you finish pulling the knob out. Not sure about a '63 ignition switch. If there is a little hole on the front of the switch, turn key as far to the left as it will go, then use a paper clip to push a little button insdie that hole. Then you can turn switch further and remove it. Again, I don't know if this applies to a 1963. ignition switch removal Posted by:

() Date: February 21, 2005 04:11PM Hi Tom, In addition to David's process, I would add to disconnect the battery first. This might seem obvious, but it is important since once you remove the knob, the headlights will be ON with no way to turn them off. Also, it is quite important to follow David's instructions exactly. You cannot simply press down on the little button on top of the headlight switch and THEN pull out the knob. You might try that a dozen or more times. But pulling it out FIRST and THEN pressing it down works well. You can guess how many times it took me to figure that little step out. -- Larry Re: Help needed for removing light switch and ignition switch Posted by:

() Date: February 21, 2005 05:59PM Thanks guys. Oh and Larry you were right about the crankcase having gas in it. It being on an incline on the trailer from Baltimore to Texas really filled it with gas. I think it must have been 1/3rd gas 2/3rds oil. Re: Help needed for removing light switch .Larry? Posted by:
