Posted by: Don Manen ()

I'm planning to use a complete '64 suspension on my current '61 Lakewood project--- removing the stock Lake suspension today I noticed that the stock '61 springs are huge compared to the '64 convertible coils I was planning to use- Will my convertible coils and the trannsverse leaf spring used on the '64 equate ----I know someone has already tried all this- this is my first Lakewood----experience, strong opinion,,, WAG (wild a-- guess)???

Hello Don: I have seen a couple of 64 swaps and if the springs are a little light they just pull up the traverse spring tension a bit.

Hey Don,

Post your question on VV, Smitty reads VV and he kas a wagon with 64 suspension and he pulls a trailer. He should be able to offer what he did for springs as well.
