1960 First design parking brake

Why were the early design parking brake handles (with the plastic release knob ) changed? Was there a problem ? Mel

Hello Mel: In the newest issue of the COMMUNIQUE (Feb 05) there is an extensive article on the development of the e-brake from the earliest with the pull release.
