I think this is a Fleetline Richard. My father had a 1947 Fleetline that I wish I had it now.

Old school 55-64 Chev rear end , beefed up good for 500 HP, cheap, lots of ratio'ssmiling smiley, I would rather have a 57-64 Olds smiling smileybut there hard to find in Canada in good condition and expensive to setup sad smiley

The 55-64 rear may be cheap but the axle bearings are bard to find and cost plenty. We gave up on the 56 chevy rear in my friends 34 Ford and installed an S10 rear. Probably not strong enough for a 454. He has a low hp 327.

I knew a guy with some nice 48 Chevy fenders but he drove over them with his tractor, he finally had enough because people are so cheap.
Not really, I'm just a wise guy and Mel has been nice for a long time now. Don't think we haven't noticed.

No replacement for displacement- love me some rat! Can't wait to see this thing finished Mel! I thought I was going to build my daughter an early 60's C10, but she fell in love with a barn-find '72 MGB with a Borla exhaust, so I've been wrenching with a British accent lately :-)
