Looks clean! Shouldn't be too hard to find fenders for it. We've been thinking about a '49 or '50, as we like the longer tail/fastback look. What are your plans for this one? Restore, restomod, hot rod?

Nice place to start for the project, Not much to clean up. One concern I would have is what is leaking out of the rear tailight opening.

It looks like you have a good solid car to start with...thats half of the battle. Here is mine....$30,000.00 plus nearly 5 years of 7 days a week building but it was worth every penny and time. This car gets more thumbs up and attention than anything I have ever owned. Downtown, the younger folks come out of eating places with their cell phones and computers and take photos of it.

It has a built 283, high compression camaro z-28 601 heads, 327-300 cam, bored 40 over, flat top pistons, polished intake with quadrajet carb. Trans is R700 overdrive unit. Car has air, pw, pb, tilt, and custom bodywork.

I drive this car everywhere...it goes out of state as it is a nice cruzer...at about 70mph I am running 2300 rpm.

Good luck with your build.

That dark spot below tailights is the original unfaded body paint that was under the "waterfall" trim.smiling smiley

Mel, didn't you buy a Chevy fastback of about this vintage somewhat recently?

Funny coincidence Mel. I have been working on a dark green '48 in Albuquerque for the last year. Been ignoring my Corvairs to get it going.

Sweet! Growing up my dad had a chopped 48 Chevy business coupe street rod. Bright red with big American Racing torque thrust II's. Fun car, I got to drive it for the first time on my 10th birthday. Great body style!

I have a set of probably usable rear fenders to fit fit that, but shipping would be a nightmare.

Who needs fenders? They'll just get in the way of the 409 you mount in it anyway grinning smiley

If you have access to a Greyhound Bus station the shipping is much less expensive.
