No Worries , Dad willl fix it ........................... GEEZ KIDS!
Posted by: ROD ()

Well as the Dad that has been know to fix anything and everything lets just say I have Officially been touched by the final Straw.....

It seems there had been an off road oops this past weekend at Tierra Del Sol.... lots of broken glass and some blood but all 3 teenagers are fine. The story is that it only rolled 3 times down the hill. Once it came to rest on the driver side with door smashed folded open the wrong direction, one kid jumped out of the rear window that was blown out then the other two had to climb up and out of the passenger side door window.

I beat up so many Corvairs like that as a Kid! We would get drunk and Hit dead Jashua trees for fun, Once my Brother and I took the willies Jeep Pick up off a Ski jump on one of our motocross tracks, we went flying, brother locked the brakes in mid air, when we landed the entire rear end ripped out of the truck and we went the rest of the way down the hill with no rear tires, Dad Loved us!

Yee- HAW!
Glad to hear they'll live to tell the story - over & over more than 3 times!

I was the navigator in a SAAB 96 (bug) Pro-Rally Car that went for the double-roll loop on a long sweeper.
Ours landed back on it's feet! Both doors were trapped closed by the roof rails hammered down on the frames! Front & Rear glass popped out and the windshield was toast.
So, we duct-taped the rear glass into the hole in front & finished the Stage!

Fun Stuff!

Hand them a hammer and dolly.
Then tell them when it's fixed, they can go back out.

They'll never roll it again.

I agree. Usually an item will be taken care of better if they have a vested interest in its value because they do not want their hard earned money or time they put into it to go to waste. But if somebody else is picking up the bill the GAF factor is pretty low.

First though you need to figure out if it was a mechanical issue that caused the roll or if it was a hey watch this moment...

So glad to hear that everyone is ok. Body work and mechanicals can be rebuilt. Human bodies, not so much!

I'd make them get their asses out in the shop to help fix it...but that's probably just me.

Kid is looking for a body.... This one is toast. I'm thinking part it out and move on.

Honestly He needs a work truck not a rampy and a play toy baja bug.... besides I have the next teenager that should be driving here in a few months. She needs some vintage wheels ready to go if I want to keep my reputation.

In a previous life I worked in a remote trauma center in the Arizona desert. Kids and vehicular roll-overs usually have unspeakably different outcomes. Two incidents come to mind that still convince me that no one under 25 should be allowed behind the wheel, but that's a personal opinion.

They are more fortunate than you can know.

That's why I like "Blow Sand" [ Glamis and others ] and not near the Ocean... Sand dunes here are only fun on aMC with 12" of travel or a Buggy with 25"!
