There was a wiring harness that plugged into the OEM engine harness - in place of the light bulbs. It fed the trailer plug and included new sockets - Interesting design. I have one in a box. I might have the hitch around somewhere as well.

Prior to 1967, there was a special, under dash, warning light for the parking brake being on. P/N 986209

I bought one of the 3-knob 65 Stereo units at a junkyard in Oregon for $5.- 1973

I had one of the speed warning indicator speedometers for a while.

The options you never see:
66-67 shoulder belts
66 power antenna (this was on am radio cars only)
67-68 headrests (correct ones, not 69 seats put into a 67 or 68)
a correctly installed Multiplex with correct speakers, grilles and harness. I have seen quite a few Corvairs at shows with the 4 knob Multiplex, but no speakers in the doors or rear deck.
my last one....
late convertibles with tinted glass.

Hey I resent that, I'm excited about my 69 headrest seats going in my 68! Haha, helen show this past year had 2 full speaker cars one was a 66 with every option, except the power antenna since it was fm in it. Guy all all the paper work it was really neat to see factory head rests and shoulder belts in a 66. Speakers were ugly literally looked like some kid did it but hey it's a option and options are cool!

Shoulder belts on a 66 are a very late year option on cars built sometime in March on to the end of the year.

I knew the 68 was a little different on the shaft I have bent ones which is okay I would think they work a little better than the straight ones? Maybe one day I'll snag some correct ones to go on.

Coleslaw, actually the bent post head restraints are better, as the bend puts the pad closer to your head, and you don't have to put your head back as far, either to rest your head on them or in an accident.'

As far as how the front speaker placement goes, here is a shot of an actual factory speaker from a '67. Note on the stripped out shot that the holes are burnt in with a torch. That is the way you KNOW for sure that they are factory. Same goes with the holes in the a/c cars.

I laughed when I removed the a/c parts from the parts car I got them from and learned that was done from the factory. Its like a guy just lit up his torch with the lucky strike hanging from his mouth and let er rip haha. There was slag and melted metal all under the dash. But hey it worked! Yeah still those speakers just look out of place.

I actually talked to the guy who burnt those holes in the car bodies in the factory. Met him at the "Meet the Makers" event last year. He told me all about how he did the job. They didn't have any tooling for stamping the needed holes in the car bodies, so he was given a set of templates. He marked the holes out and burnt them out with a hot wrench (cutting torch). This was in the day before plasma cutters, which would have left a cleaner hole. A torch was also faster than sawing or grinding them out. And of course it was done before the body hit the paint shop.

This is probably one of the rarer 1967-'69 accessories, the GM Child Love Seat. That kid looks like a real brat!

I have the underdash mechanism for the very early brake release with the plastic handle that says " Brake Release". Anyone know when this was phased out? Anyone interested in it? Not really an accessory but part of early production. EddieB Dade City,Fl
