Contribution made. Great idea! And perhaps another reason to attend the April event. Would be my first involvement with Cactus Corvair Club for over 20 years!

It is wonderful to see the many members of the Corvair hobbyist community come together on this sad occasion and under these very sad circumstances for modest financial support of a fallen Brother. Both of the Levitch Bros. have contributed in an effort to ensure that Brother Larry Aldrich receives some dignity in passing with a proper albeit spartan burial. God Bless You Larry.

UPDATE:

Big thanks to everyone who donated. We met our goal today!

Our club will get with the coroner to settle the bill and see about getting his ashes to one of his children.

The club still plans to have a small ceremony to remember Larry at out club picnic on April 2nd. If you have more stories or photos please share.

I took a while but I wanted to add a final update to this thread about the passing of long-time Corvair enthusiast Larry Aldrich last year.

After the request was made on both Corvair Center and Corvair Forum to raise funds so that Larry’s body could be laid to rest, there was an outpouring of support and donations from the Corvair community. We received an overly generous amount of funds and most donors indicated to use any excess funds to honor Larry in some way.

Since Larry worked many years at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, we at Cactus Corvair Club thought it would be fitting to have a memorial plaque designed and placed at the airport in a section proposed for such remembrances, kind of like a memorial wall you see in many public buildings. After many delays through the summer and fall, we were recently advised that this project would not be moving forward. We had to decide how to use the excess donations in another way that would be appropriate. The decision was made to forward the remaining funds to the Corvair Preservation Foundation scholarship fund.

I want to personally say thank you to all the donors for remembering Larry and the good he did for our beloved cars and community.
Because of your generosity, an $800 donation was recently made to the CPF Scholarship Fund in honor of Larry Aldrich. The donation was possible because so many of you took the time to care.

Excellent! A donation to further education is always a great way to honor someone. Now a student will be able to use this scholarship as a memorial to Larry and the generosity of the Corvair enthusiast community.

Thank you for making this happen.

I have long since missplaced my records, but I bought my 64 Conv in Scottsdale in 1980. Wonder if Larry sold it to me. Sad to hear about his passing.
