The Black is factory sealer / primer?

When done I'd paint it with a "Semi-gloss white"

The black on the upper portion of the cargo doors is factory primer/sealer. Everything else is one of the "custom paint jobs it's endured over the years.

Pondering on whether or not to swap the rear doors for these '63 window deletes.
Great way to keep prying eyes out of the back of the van. And also another rare feature that could compliment the Corvan further.

I've also decided to "un-reverse" the side intermediate cargo doors. They were flipped around by a previous owner at some point in its life. The fitment is questionable on the driver's side.

Someone may have mentioned this but I forgot...

Are the hinges specific to location? Or are they typical, throughout?

"I've also decided to "un-reverse" the side intermediate cargo doors."

Huh! I never knew that was possible. I sure would have liked to install "rear side door first" doors on my Corvan. As built, the forward side door opened first and opening that door provided a nice view of the side of the factory camper cabinet. No way to enter except to open the rear side door too.

So far so good except that once you were inside it was hard to close that forward door; maybe that's why your PO reversed the doors.

Maybe they got tired of the front driver's and cargo doors always being in each others way? I could really see the benefit with a camper kit or passenger hauling. Since this is a panel, that's the only thing I could think of.

The hinge design changed in mid-1962; early design could not be used on either side, late style could.

So no difference at all on the later style? Thanks,Steve.

There are differences as to which side of the hinge is up vs down, so not all the hinges are interchangeable; I think catercorner hinges are interchangeable. However, that does not mean that the doors will be properly aligned - often the hinges were bent to fit a particular door and location. I had to replace a hinge on the Firebrier with a NOS one, and I had to bend it to get proper alignment.

Are part#'s stamped on them? I don't have my literature handy. If they are,I could reference the correct hinge reinstallation as I progress.

NOS clear FC windshield for the build. Sat in a New England glass shop for 40+ years. Since the Corvan will be my driver of the fleet and im going with new seals and deluxe trim, why not see through virgin glass.

Part numbers are not stamped on the hinge-halves. I just looked at my pile of hinges and was reminded that the door upper and lower hinges are different. By looking at a couple of NOS hinges I can see that the one half of the shorter lower hinge is 3773724 and one half of longer upper hinge is 3773716).
