() Date: December 12, 2014 07:07PM Hi Kids; just an update - In addition to my website (which is a little complicated), I've just Ebay-isted the "world-famous" Craig Nicol / Dann Wienoe FC tailgate reflectors. They've been very well received - Thank you to those who have already purchased a set (or two!). To recap: These reflectors tool-stamped from heavy gauge aluminum, edge-polished, and their reflector is die-cut from Avery/3M "High-Visibility" reflective tape that's color matched to the tail light lens. (End of commercial. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming ![]() Link to Ebay listing - click here Craig N. () Date: December 12, 2014 09:31PM Was there a reason you didn't have the aluminum clear anodized ? ![]() Re: FC Reflectors - now available through Ebay ![]() Posted by:

Plan A was to have them stamped out of polished stainless but as it turns out the tooling cost would have been astronomical, making the selling price equally 'stronomical. (at least double, if not more.) Plan B was polished aluminum. I had it quoted with and without clear anodize. Anodizing would have pushed the price into a range that wouldn't be competitive with the reproduction part and it also wouldn't have as much shine. My goal was to exceed the quality of the repro (by far) while matching or beating the price. Anodizing would have blown the price target by a wide margin. So, I went with polished aluminum, which has a great shine and is easily polished with wadding. The way these trucks are used these days, I estimate five years or more before they need polishing and it takes about 5-minutes each to restore the shine with wadding so I figured that was a good trade-off. Thanks for asking. ![]() Craig N. Coeur d'Alene ID. 66 Black Monza 4dr, 4.2L V8 49k 61 Seamist Jade Rampside 140 PG 65 Canadian Monza 4dr 110/PG 40k 66 Sprint Corsa convt - First car! () Date: December 13, 2014 08:30AM Base could have been made using stainless, but as Craig said, the cost would be much more. If stainless was used and polished, it would not have matched the tail light base. The polished aluminum was a perfect match! Dann Dann So. Calif. Another operation would have been necessary to wrap the tight corner of the part. I.E. quit a bit more expensive. Dann Dann So. Calif.
