Love how this thing is sitting down in the front!!

After sealing up the passenger side door the water intrusion is MUCH less around the windshield. I guess it's holding pressure now . . . well, not escaping so fast that is.

I drove it through some pretty heavy stuff today and only had two drips that I saw. Previously the water would come in so heavy it would steady drip on my foot off of the column.

Windshield gasket next!

How about a side view photo of your front wheel and fender opening to get a idea of ride height. Maybe even a measurement from the bottom of your fender lip to the ground.

Thanks,

Got my new key blanks cut this week - had one for the ignition and one for the driver side door. After chatting with the locksmith, they carry these blanks and also re-key the locks too. So yesterday I took the door locks in and had them matched to the ignition. As a bonus (why I never tried I have no idea) leaving the coffee shop I tried the ignition key in the glove box and it worked! I think I had tried the door key before, but for some reason never the ignition.

So now 1 key for ALL locks - YAY!!!!

Also got the 54 mains in last weekend and the FC now drives wonderfully at speed. Always pulled nicely in 1-3 gears, but had some hesitation in 4th above 3k RPM. Now, sans head wind, she runs 65+ at about 1/3 - 1/2 throttle. Used to be WOT to maintain anything over 65.

Still LOVING this FC!!!

So I put another 500+ miles on the Rampy this weekend. Talk about running SWEET once I upjetted to 54s. Cruises 65-70 effortlessly now. All the mid range miss / cut out is gone now in third and fourth gears.

Have an issue with intermittent smoking out of the left bank. Did a compression test when I got home and all looks good. ~165lbs rounded across all cylinders. Nothing super low or dead.

Plugs looked AMAZING . . . nice caramel color. No soot, oil or black to them. Just like last time I pulled them.

I am leaning towards a valve stem seal or guide?

Thoughts?

You'll have to look at the back sides of the intake Valves...

I'd just change the seals with the engine in the truck..

That is kinda where I am leaning.

I would like to 'think' if I have a broken ring ti would have less compression and likely smoke constantly?

One time I was setting the carb linkage and had the truck idling and one of the banks just started smoking all of a sudden. Then cleared up.

Sometimes it will smoke a little when I first fire it up - most times not.

It wouldn't be compression rings.... that would be blowby...

Has to be oil control rings or stem seals...

Change the seals! ggg

I'll plan that Matt!

So I FINALLY got the windshield washer system completed. Works as it should. I lucked up at a weekend swap meet and found a new, unopened rebuild kit for the pump. The bellows is no longer available - at least that is what I came up with. I think there was also another pump in the box with a new kit in it as well.

Great evening to kayak and get a look at water access to a home we were looking at moving to. No access from bayou . . . . the search will continue LOL
