It was a great drive! The car just purrs along. Hanging with my racing friends. Mostly Triumphs. Here are pics of my two racers.

I said to my wife in February that I needed a hobby to take my mind off of work etc and negotiated a "restoration" project. I found a '64 vert nearby however stripped down with the exception of the engine. Upon initial inspection it seemed workable. (I have had Corvairs in the past however, my last was 20 years ago and did not have forums like this to turn to). I purchased the 64 project which had a turbo and had the understanding that not all the parts were included.
The long story short, after a great deal of prepping, painting (made a make-shift paint booth in shared garage), and sourcing parts (most new), I had her on the road in five weeks (some evenings and weekends), and very surprised at how little the insurance costs; $140/ year with roadside (Hagerty).
After a six months hiatus I am still doing numerous final touches, however, am driving daily.
I have posted pics online:

Thank you to everyone on the forum as the information on here has been a great resource and tremendous help in seeing this through.

Trying to make a weekly drive (when there's no snow). My wife loves the idea as long as she gets a nice lunch--fair trade.

Woke my '65 up from its winter slumber for a drive the other day. Nice enough to put the top down and turn on the AC. Blew my sons mind as the power top went up when he wasn't expecting it.

Ok... so it's not recent...
But back around 1979 I used my Greenbrier for about everything. Even adventure touring!eye popping smiley Here we are pushing water above the font bumper. As long as I kept moving across the creek... water never came in the cab. This back road is called Lopez Canyon Road in central Calif. The creek crosses the road 28 times. So the undercarriage got a real good washing!

Shot #2 is recently taken in my driveway. Yep, same Brier!
