Custom Corvair 95 PU in Walnut Grove, MO

Yes, Walnut Grove is the one time home of the Charles Ingalls family. But it's the one in Minnesota not Missouri.

A barnfind, sorta, take a look at the photos. The bed looks to be shortened, the vent appears to be where the ramp should be. The rear bumper looks early 50 Hudson-ish, and it looks like they attached the original rear bumper to bottom of the front. Ah-some project.

The double front bumper is to hide where they drove up onto one of the curb stops. ggg

Anyone else notice what seems to be missing sheet metal in the left rear corner of the cab?
Looks like they cut it off.

Good eye Sam. I missed that. ggg

And yet I was wondering why they cut out that rear cab panel. LOL

That rear bumper would have to go! Can't open the access door. Hard to tell from the pictures what it really looks like. Might be kind of fun to have.

Can't quite tell but it looks longer that the pic that Sam posted.

It looks like the picture were taken with a wide angle lens. I think it's distorting.

Maybe we can get Keith Hammitt to check it out for us. Looking at the inside of the bed between the cab and air passage cover the Missouri one looks like it may be a few inches longer than the one Sam posted.

Maybe Gary Moore needs to get out the Sawsall and JB weld.

Paul,

We really don't know that for sure. That bumper does have a large cruve in it and you can see some day light. GGG
The tread of that wide tire sits down between the space of the bumper and the access door handle - which sticks out some too.

I think we should take bets - If it does or does not open.

I sent Keith an email this morning, he is only 10 miles away from Walnut Grove.

Terry did you photoshop the number off the Red Rampywinking smiley. Nice job, that puts you one up on me.
