Yup, Pertronix is a waste of time if it dies when almost new. I was there, it took 2 hours to come back to life

P1 died on me after 9 months and I was 1,000 miles from home. I didn't have points with me, but luckily I had the little screws to hold the new points and condenser in.
36 years, less 9 months, never had points fail.

LoL , makes me remember years ago my '67 Dodge D200 just died on the road with no spark.

Pulled the dist. cap and couldn't believe that one of the point contacts had fallen off!

My car had a Pertronix 1 when I bought it 7 years ago and it's still running fine. Er...not right now since heads are off but the ignitor is still good!

I once had a point weld itself to the opposing point, break off, and the arm was the point, touching the back of the point!
