Got the tired 'ol 110 out, and gonna swap it for my rebuild of a +.030, 95 head, engine. Bikt it on my spare RH case. Hope I can use 87 octane now. LOL. Discovered a leak in either the bell housing main seal or the flex plate bolts...so it was a good time to get her out. #Stoked

Joel, the bolt that is in the picture, and the one on the opposite side of the differential,you cut a slot across the bottom of the bolt. Since these are typically hard to get to, and come in from the back side, the slot makes quicker work of removing them, as seen in my pic. I made the slot in them quite a while back, and remembered when I was under there yesterday. Really makes that process quicker.

Took TurboTurd and my intertrashional firetruck to a show in the small town that the firetruck is from yesterday. All went well and the weather only reached the low 80s which was a very nice break from several weeks of 100+.

Replaced the single master cylinder on my '66 Monza with a Clarks dual master cylinder. Went on pretty smooth, trickiest part was bending the rear brake line thru the new hole in the trunk wall.

FINALLY...got all of the tin and brackets transferred over from old/worn 110 engine to the fresh 95 rebuild. Cleaned out "The Black Hole"...YUCK!!! . Ready to stab it tomorrow morning. I work swing shift, and I have been out there all morning, and it's already getting hot. (Central CA) What took me so long this morning, was, that while I was under the engine bay, inspecting and looking at everything, I saw that two of my heater ducts had holes in them. The bigger one, coming from the fan to the duct, was...in my opinion, original, and was disintegrating. Had, in the stash, a larger, 6" flexible aluminum duct tube, that I cut, formed, wrestled with, cursed at, and taped...with aluminum duct tape. It was too big to begin with,, but it is what I had, so it was employed to the position. Gonna take a break and then go out and roll the engine, that is currently on my install jack, out to the work site, and stage it underneath the engine bay. First thing tomorrow morning, gonna get her put up into the car, and put oil in it to prime the system. WML

Out of garage, around two corners, and about 20 yds. of travel...all on my makeshift, leapfrog panels. Took about 10 mins. She is now nestled under 'whitey', the 65 110 PG, ready for install and deployment.

Received my Flamethrower II, .6 Ohm coil, from California Corvair Parts, on Saturday. Installed it yesterday...car run good. Will have to see how she does on the commute tomorrow afternoon. If she still sputters at cruising speed, I will dive into the carbs.

Balanced the carbs on the canadian car today. The lifters finally quieted down! I washed it just because and then drove it around the block a bunch. I need to get a fuel tank in this thing so i can drive it for real!

Phil, and all...the pep is back in her step, and ignition is rock solid. No hesitation out of corners, and as responsive as a 95hp PG can be. Still lost quite a bit of fuel milage, and if anyone has experienced the same, here in California, tell us about it. I went from 23MPG down to 14MPG, in what seemed like overnight. Not sure about Commiefornia's gas blend hanky panky, but it does seem odd.

Have two carbs in midst of rebuilding as we speak, so when those are done, I will report as to how they perform in comparison.

Well, finally finished the suspension work and have removed the power pack. Started stripping the tin and found it to be in pretty good condition. Compression test was
#1- 110psi
#2- 100psi
#3- 150psi
#4- 165psi
#5- 150psi
#6- 100psi
This engine would have run. Maybe only 3 minutes before it overheated and dropped a valve but it is in very good condition, considering. This engine is factory original, never had the valve covers off. (known history of car).
Here are a couple of pics of what I have found. SO FAR, only twisted off the studs on exhaust logs. Everything else has come apart easily.
