Well, for my Corvair, but not to my Corvair.. I've been putting insulation in my garage so I can heat it up to something more comfortable, and this last weekend got 6 pieces of 4 x 12 5/8 fireblock up which went a long ways towards my dual needs of being able to work out there with the cold concrete but manageable air temperatures, and more light shining down on my work and less getting lost up in the rafters. the side with the now primered and painted drywall is so much brighter, it's amazing. Now I need to prepare to drop transaxle to assess flywheel and PP while doing clutch, and some other stuff I'll have her on 4 jackstands for a couple of weeks.

Dave, you are going to wear out the nuts and bolts on Phils engine!

I prepared my RH valve cover for re-installation. I know, it's not much but that's all I had time for.

Installed a new starter solenoid in my daily driver '63 vert. It started going out last week. There are worse things then having to replace a starter on an early, but they are certainly no fun. So I replaced the solenoid with the starter in place. Not much better - but a little easier then pulling the whole starter. Starting nicely now. Also adjusted the hood hinges I installed yesterday in my '65 Ford F100. The originals were broken and loose and the hood would not close right and would still sit up two inches in the back. Closes perfectly now.

Took my Corsa to Safelite so the installer could look at it. He said "no problem". Problem is I can't find any "perfect" windshield trim to replace my dented trim.angry smiley

Well, it was actually last Sunday, but the rear suspension came out of the car. I've already ordered the C4 lower strut rods, I still need to inspect everything to determine what else needs to be replaced.

The windshield trim is stainless steel and can be successfully restored.
Richard Widman (Richard1) has a great online article about it, and he wrote an article for the Communique as well.

More for my Corvair than to . . .

Refinished an old Thermos Ice Chest I picked up at the fleamarket a couple of weeks ago. Now it looks better and matches the Greenbrier.

I stripped everything out of the trunk today, wire brushed out the old spatter paint and repainted it with Clark's paint. Once the paint dried, I used the sealer Clark's recommends to coat the spatter paint. I'll let the sealer dry overnight (it is actually already dry to the touch) and then start putting everything back together tomorrow. The new trunk and windshield wiper/washer harnesses I ordered 12 or so years ago will be installed, along with a new master cylinder. Everything else in the trunk area is already new so I am hoping it looks very nice. With any luck, tomorrow this thread will contain some pictures of my refinished trunk.
