Old Yeller has just 54k on it, never been apart. Hoping to get away with a ridge ream, hone and new rings. As far as transaxle, when I'm doing a full project like this I usually completely clean and reseal both, as well as take out any slack in the ring and pinion.

Took the day off working on Ole Yeller to help my buddy push his recently acquired 1960 NSU Prinz into his barn. Never seen one of these in person. Rear engine air cooled 2 cylinder!

He's also part of the Corvair hobby, believe he's had somewhere in the neighborhood of 74 of them. The NSU is cool, but rough, needs floors. Usually these microcars are 2 strokes, but this ones an in line transverse 2 cylinder 4 stroke with a 4 speed. I got a kick out of the fact it has 5 lug wheels to handle that 30hp. Factory specs say it tops out at 60 mph.....

I 'race prepped' my '60 Monza - by that I mean I fixed an air leak in one of its tires. I also 'race prepped' the crankshaft for the engine I'm rebuilding. By that I mean I cleaned it in solvent.

Continued old yeller teardown. Dropped the transaxle, gave me access to the heaterbox, brake lines, took them all out so I can prep and paint the area. Parts shelves almost full.

I removed the carburetor from our 1965 turbo corsa to have it overhauled by Clark's Corvair. It sure looks original! I did not have it rebuilt with the engine four years ago. Never thought about it, but since then, well, let's say it is time.

Changed out the fuel pump and rod/spring on my 64 Monza. Old one was leaking (even after tightening screw) and wasn't really seated right (you could push it down when the car was running and physically see it jump).

New one doesn't move at all and no leaks! Only took about 20-25 minutes and that was doing other stuff at the same time.

Degreased and power washed the engine compartment and transaxle. Took a stop and mop day to the garage...
