Installed cleaned up tail light and back up light housings with new looking lenses, trim rings and gaskets to the 66 Coupe. Tested 100 watt LED bulbs in the backup light assemblies. Lots of light. BUT it looks like I may have to drill hole straight into housing to mount light socket as light is tilted up to much. You can see they are on the second garage door panel in relation to the hood latch. I will try rotating housings on tail panel (if possible) to see if I can get a better light beam straight in back of the car.

Finished disassembling the 4th LM front suspension assembly. Only items left is to remove ball joint from upper & lower frames and remove tie rods from adjusting sleeves.

Based on work done on these four, I will remove front suspension from my Coupe and rebuild it as it has been inside for most of its life. I think the better components are on the Coupe.

Removed the cleaned up tail light and back up light housings from the 66 Coupe. Prepped housings to drill holes in the housing for LED lights to project beams straight back.

Also prepped a set of housing for the More Door to also be drilled for LED lights.

Pulled long bolt on right side of front crossmember measurement check. It came out easily. Cleaned it up, applied anti-seize and reinstalled it. Documented length in another discussion.

Emptied trunk of 66 Coupe to gain access to corner closeout panels. Need to pull them to pull parking light housing for LED bulb update. I will clean sockets and grounds to make sure every thing is good before going to LED bulbs.

Lots of love given to Coupe today by Donna and me. Finished rear brakes, awaiting drum installation and adjustment. Replaced driveshaft straps and bolts with painted ones.

Installed new engine harness. Modified alternator connection to the internally regulator alternator connector. Installed resettable Buss circuit breaker. Installed chromed vertical coil bracket. Used 1/4-20 Quickserts in rear subframe to mount bracket. Installed bracket with 1/4-20 fender bolts with floating dog point washer.

Remove rear wheel well trims. Cleaned and polished them. Installed with new screws.

Removed trunk front corner panels to access park/turn light mounting hardware. Removed park/turn lights and disassembled them for cleaning and polishing. Reassembled them with new lenses, gaskets and LED bulbs (JDM ASTAR 2x 1157 BAY15D Switchback LED White Amber Turn Signal Bulbs). Photo shows Coupe's assemblies in the front.

Rick and I got the tail light housings drilled up for 3 cars. The set off the coupe was painted, so we did light testing with 65 & 66 lenses in my 32 ft long garage. Using High Heat Reflective Barbeque Silver paint for interior surface proved to be the right choice. When we compared to an unpainted bead blasted housing, the difference was significant. All 8 freshly bead blasted housings have had Rust Fix applied, primer applied and interior paint applied. Painting will be finished today, if rain doesn't come in. The coupes housing have been repainted with final color and ready to go on either car.

Front park light mount housing clamps were cleaned, and the same painting process applied using brushed nickel paint. Interior of housings will be painted to get more illumination. We will test between good housings and the housing painted with High Heat Reflective Barbeque Silver paint to see the difference in illumination. Good housings may be painted also, just to protect the housing.

I gave Rick my Coupe's new gas tank, sender and install parts, so he could get his Vair going in an attempt to make Maggie Valley in it. Unfortunately his brakes failed the Hard, Harder, Hardest test on the last day. Someone else of lessor push power did the test for him a couple days earlier. Anyway, he got me another tank and parts so I could get it ready for installation again. Tank was painted with primer. I was ready to apply Rustoleum Satin Black paint on it when I spotted 2 extra cans of Black Rocker Guard paint I had purchased for the More Door. So I used it to paint the gas tank. I think it looks good. Tank will go in once front suspension is done.

Kind of bumming...continued tearing down old yeller today. I though I saw some cracking in the paint on the left front fender. Took out the headlight buckets and convertible "weights". The car has been hit and repaired poorly. Also the metal where the buckets bolt to was rusted away on the top side and filled in with bonds. I think the right bucket was held in by 4 of 8 or 9 screws. Maybe I'm overreacting but this car was so nice and to find this sucks. May need to reassess my plans for it....

Someone was selling a front panel here recently. Cut that one off and put on a good one. I know easier said than done.

Well it seems that I'm undoing more that I get put back together! ???? today I was going to put new donut gaskets on my manifolds but instead I spent 6 hrs getting the old ones off and cleaning the tubes to get ready for the new ones. Seams the old ones were either the originals or someone a long time ago permatext them on. Better day ahead

My name is Mike Worrell living in southern Iowa my vairs are a 64 2dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed light yellow with blk interior. Then a few months ago I got a 65 2 Dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed
Also light yellow with blk interior. Not sure what gear ratio as of now I'll have a look and up date. I really like them both but really liking the 65. They really made a lot of changes in a 1 year difference ????

Remove rear torque arms off the Coupe today. Pretty clean arms and brackets. Just the rubber parts are cracked and dried out.

Continued old yeller teardown. First time top shroud was ever off I believe. Nice to see the correct RB stamp on the case cover. Also found a donor "face" to fix the crappy work done on the front end.
