() Date: January 20, 2013 03:46PM Maybe this thred inspired me..... Finally put the lower shrouds on and connected the thermostat doors on my '63 vert. Had not gotten them back on after resealing the engine in December. This is by far my least favoite job to do on a corvair. Hot clean heat now. This engine has never been apart and leaked like a sieve before. Followed this up by a nice thorough washing at the heated car wash. Re: What did you do to your Corvair today? Posted by:

() Date: January 20, 2013 06:27PM I got my adapters and lugs on Friday so I put on my new rims and rubber and headed up to the local cruise-in on Saturday night with my girlfriend. There was a huge crowd due to Barrett-Jackson being in town and the fact that it was 75 degrees and sunny. We had a great evening and got lots of compliments on the Corvair. () Date: January 20, 2013 06:31PM I didn't do anything to the Crovair itself...BUT I built a sand blasting cabinet in preparation for rebuilding the suspensions on the Corvair. () Date: January 20, 2013 06:41PM I got out the red Rampside and drove it to a club member's birthday party on Saturday. It was a 80 mile round trip and the Rampy ran great. Got lots of thumbs up from passerbys. Best part was sitting next to my sweetie. This morning winter returned, cold with a few snow flakes. I did maintenance on the sandblaster cabinet, I need to finish cleaning the bell housing for the green Rampy engine rebuild. I am hoping the new engine will surpass the 100 mph barrier. The current 102 engine tops out at 86.7 mph according to Garmin. GMoore Re: What did you do to your Corvair today? Posted by:

() Date: January 20, 2013 08:06PM I received an order from Raffee. Still trying to fix a rocker arm in my newly overhauled engine that won't stay tight. Got a few used ones from him and rocker cover gaskets. Didn't actually work on it today. I did look longingly at it sitting in my basement. IT's WAY too cold to drive it today. @JOE West, I had that happen to my 66 Corsa way back in the day. Never heard of it happening to anyone else. Enjoy. () Date: January 20, 2013 09:37PM Didn't do anything today, but I have been putting up insulation in the ceiling of my garage the last few days so I can actually heat it up enough to work out there, unusually cold here in Western oregon the last couple of weeks. Today went to lunch with my mom and then played "Apples to Apples" (fun game) with mom, wife and kids before watching 7 hours of football in a little under 4 hours with the benefit of the old DVR. Tomorrow, hope to get the last of the insulation up and THEN I start pulling the dash to try to fix the clock, and install the new roof rail weatherstrip, and I got some more clutch swap parts in Saturday.
