My son and I took an old 140 HP that I picked up years ago out of storage. We are going to get it running and then decide whether it needs a rebuild or just run it. Our time is spread thin so this will take a while. Step one will be to hook up a powergluide and starter to spin it over.

Got the crank keyway sealed, and flexplate torqued down. Intake valve seals replaced, and valves cold adjusted and engine installed and mated to transaxle. Plan is to have her up and running again this week.

Ultra 411, Some people use 2 lugnuts between the stater and bellhousing to mock the thickness of the rear axle. I use 2 7/16" nuts to give proper clearance, plus they're flat on both sides and don't dig in. You'll of course still need a ring gear. I use a flywheel and pressure plate. Does anyone run these with just the flex plate and torque converter? wondering about the innards flopping around.

Put on a good coat of Meguire's paste wax and got her shined up for the summer. I have been wanting to do that ever since I got her!

Very nice looking convertible. My '65 convertible has the same color combo except for a red interior. I haven't started the cosmetic restoration yet but I hope it ends up as nice as yours.

Trim. Frustrating and exasperating, but got to be done right. Those rear cover moldings form Clark's, all sides, are too long and must be trimmed to fit properly. And the clips that the screws go in tend to move. Also a bother.
But coming right along.

Same car I bought in 1/68 the night before I went to Viet Nam he second time. Got it back in 8/15. Plan its first public runout come July.

Finally got our 64 convertible home to our garage and have been tearing out various rusted/mildewed pieces. And using tin snips to cut away parts of the rear quarter panel between the door and wheel arch to get rid of rusted metal and see how much of the inner rockers are bad.

Drove the '63 down to East Ridge ( Chattanooga) to look at all the Vdubs at Bug-A-Palooza

Lots of bugs there. Would guess 150-200 and tons of vendors. As usual, the 'vair got lots of attention. Stan Gee was there in his Corvan too and got the same responses.

Top down, good day to get out and drive the car to the big city!

Almost put it on early last week!

Mounted a set of valve covers I got from AZDave a while back on my '64 Spyder. Perfect fit as it's heads are drilled for 6 bolts, and since it has a straight pipe with no muffler they remain far more visible. I had bought them for my wifes '64 initially but with duals itself, they wouldn't be seen.

Well it was yesterday but I got my lock situation taken care of for the front trunk. I bought my 64 Convertible without door, glove box and front trunk keys.

I have had to take off the front lights to get into to open the trunk. Did that a few times and just decided to get a key!

I took the glove box lock to the locksmith I found. New key works in glove box but not the trunk. Took off the trunk lock and had the locksmith make a key. My trunk now closes and locks and the key also works for the doors. Total cost $75 for three keys.

Plan today is to break out the Meguire's paste wax (love that shit) and shine her up.

Finally put the NOS muffler bracket on my 62 greenbrier that I bought from Dave Watson over a year ago (thanks Dave). Also replaced the blower motor today.... It's been squealing on high speed for a while.
