Put lower shrouds back on Gem today.

Actually needed heater recently.

Tired of bellows failing on me.

Went with no damper doors.

It is good enough for CA.

In the last week, got the front struts rod bushings replaced, followed up with a 4 wheel alignment at the local small town tire and alignment shop. Handles much better and my tire wear should be more even.

Finished up the bench seats that came in Crusty.

Thanks to motohead for really nice seat tracks.

CA Corvair for the side trim and pivot covers.

Clark's provided all the pivot small pieces.

The pivot caps are tricky...easy does it!!

Rick stopped by to look over the brake installations on the More Door and help bleed and adjust the brakes. Found a couple of adjusters not working as well as they should. It took some time and swapping of parts with my loose parts to get them working.

Brakes were bled and final adjustments made to get better pedal, but pedal was still not right. We found the pedal was 1/4" off the bumper. Adjusted MC rod so there was 0.010" clearance to bumper. Pedal is now at expected height when depressed. Reset brake light switch for new pedal position.

Tires/wheels installed and hub caps installed.

Next up PG Shift Cable.

Got one of the new buckets installed in Gem and it's very nice.

I actually prefer the bench but my wife really loves the bucket.

Freshly rebuilt not caved in...she can see over the steering wheel.

I think I figured out my 500 bench seat vinyl upholstery color problem.

I guess the seats are so badly sun damaged they just lost all their color.

Trim Tag specifically says 701 which in 1966 was Fawn...it's not even close.

The HA6L Tan sample that Clark's sent me matches everything BUT the seats.

It matches the interior paint color, dash pad, seat belts, kick panels, and pillar covers.

I'm not sure which color names are correct (GM or Clark's) but I'm going with what matches.

Finally making a somewhat decent amount of progress! Turbo is polished and back on. Exhaust all hooked up. Basically just need to fix the muffler hanger and rebuild the carburetor. With any luck, i might get to drive it once or twice before the snow. Lol

I entered this spring/summer with big plans to pick up where I left off last fall on my '65 Monza coupe, but then lack of motivation, heat, and humidity seemed to keep me from making much progress.
A few weeks ago I finally split the transmission from the differential and gave each a bit more cleaning in the parts washer then wiped them down with lacquer thinner and gave each a coat of spray bomb paint. I also cleaned up and painted a few other small parts while I was at it. I still have some details to finish and seals & gaskets to install before I put them back together and fill them.

Looks good !
I wish I had, had time to do that to mine while I had it out.
Did the swap out in the driveway.
Had to get it right back in A.S.A.P.
The rains are upon us already (sprinkles yesterday & today), and I don't know how many good days are left this year.
Keep at it. thumbs up

Quick valve adjustment by someone who knows what they're doing. In the process learned that one rattle was a loose fan (not belt, fan). Glad I caught that!

Rebuilt my yh and ran TurboTurd for the first time in almost a year! I found most of the adjustments were way out of whack in the carb. It fired right up and idled smoother than it ever has in the 9 years its been done. Planning to detail engine bay and drive it tomorrow!
