Which Porsche transmission? I have a 2015 LT1 mated to a Cayman S trans. The kennedy adapter and clutch were more then the trans. I seem remember paying about $1500 or so for the transmission. Thankfully I was able to use the cayman shifter and cables without modification, the shifter assembly and cable is shared across the 996 - boxster S and cayman S. Typical price is $100-150 for the entire assembly.

You are correct that if you run a 930 or G50 transmission inverted you're probably looking at 10K plus. There are lots of Caymans and Boxsters running around with 500HP LS motors without issues long term, just look up Renegade Hybrids (They get their adapters from Kennedy)
