For Sale - 1965 Corsa Coupe
Posted by: tampatexan ()

Circumstances are forcing me to offer my '65 Corsa for sale. It is stock except a PO lowered the suspension by 1" in all 4 corners and it has a set of mag wheels. Engine has about 1000 miles since rebuild. It is .060 oversized and has a Pertronix ignition. Carbs were overhauled by Wolf Enterprises when the engine was overhauled. The distributor was also overhauled with new bushings, etc. Engine compartment and trunk have been refurbished. Dual master cylinder installed. Interior is stock and in excellent condition with only a couple of split seams on the front seats and a small tear in the headliner over the back seat. Also, needs a set of window fuzzies. Car has ~96,000 original miles (I am the 3rd owner). Also have the original warranty book and protect-o-plate. New windshield installed in 2011. All gauges work. Sale will include a set of VDO guages (except no VDO speedo) and the plates to install them in the stock panel. I have installed the optional overtemp buzzer. I think the car is a 7 or 8. All it needs is some very minor rust repair on the bottom of both doors,a repaint. Car is located in Palm Coast, FL. Pictures available upon request. Asking $7500 - negotiable. If interested, email me tampatexan at gmail dot com with any questions or for pictures.

Your Corsa looks nice Jim. But I also like your Porsche. Are you selling it too?

Don't know if posted elsewhere but more pics may help. Price seems reasonable considering info given. Good luck finding a new owner. Contact local Corsa chapter?

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm still learning.smiling smiley You said "carbs". so I'm thinking it's a 140. I thought the overtemp buzzer was for the turbo and goes off at 625 degrees. Won't the damage already be done on a 140 at 625 degrees?confused smiley

SF.. Spyder /Corsa overtemp is 575F... all others 525F..

600f won't kill a Vair...if not held too long at that temp IF all else is normal..you just have to let it cool slowly..

As you know, because of my recent belt deal, I considered both the overtemp buzzer and the gen/fan light buzzer. I decided on the gen/fan light buzzer because it would go on sooner/faster and I thought that if the normal operating temp range is 250-300 degrees, a buzzer at 525 degrees might be too late. Haven't installed it yet,am I wrong? And as long as I'm being educated,I still don't get the bare floors under my front seats. Why don't any other 60's chevys have them?
