Converting FC man to a PG
Posted by: firefighterfox ()
Date: July 25, 2012 06:30PM

I am looking for a few parts to finish up my FC powerglide conversion.
I need an FC pg shift selector, an FC shift cable and a FC pg transmission support.
( I could possibly fabricate a support by cutting and welding a car pg support and an FC man. support that I have in stock if I had some measurements?)
Thanks for any help or advise,
firefighterfox

Welcome to the CCF!

Tell us where you are..some parts may be close by!

And tell us what year it is... there are differences of several items.

I have a 63 rampside that was originally a manual transmission. I live in Spring, Texas, just north of Houston.

I am 90% sure that I have a crossmember and PG shift cable. The cable may need the "rescue tape" repair, but I am not sure.

I'll check tonight.

Any reason for the swap? I was looking for some parts to convert my fc to a standard shift.

The ramp will be the wifes car and she wanted an automatic. I'll be using the manual parts for my 62 ramp motorhome.
Sorry?

PG and turbo is a better match with a stock turbo setup... just add a wastegate

Several have done it....

this is just MY opinion!
