Hey guys,
Every now and then, when I turn my car off(shut the engine off)the starter engages. I have all new wiring, switches, and such.. Any ideas or thing to check?

1 Does it just momentarily engage and then is ok? Or does it stick in?

2 Do you have any added relays in the system??

I usually turn it back the other way as soon as it engages so it doesn't mess anything up. It stops when I do that.

The only other wiring stuff I have done is run a straight 12v to an ignitor 2, and install a power switch to an electric fuel pump.

You mean you turn the ignition back on..but not into the start position?

Get a new switch!!

I too have an issue with my starter/ignition on my 61 rampside. Some times the dash lights barely show power and other times they glow brightly. When they are dim, the starter get NO power. Any ideas?

That sounds like a bad ground cable at the battery or body.

@Old Timer- also check the connections where the main wiring harness meets the one in the engine compartment. I went down a bumpy dirty road a while back and had an issue similar to that.
