can you tell me the specks and how to set the valuves on a 110hp corvair?
I used to do it by ear but got to old and can't hear that good any more.

Corvairs all have hydraulic lifters which are not set with a feeler gauge. You'll have to find someone to help you hear them. Normally they are set 1/4 to 3/4 turn tighter than zero clearance or when they stop clicking.

Get cylinder TDC, loosen the rockers then tighten until a .001 feeler is snug, then tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

..I was going to post similar to J.O. but with a .010" feeler because it's stiffer,,then preload 3/4-1 turn..

I drag a strip of paper between the rocker and the valve, then 1/2 turn.
