I purchased a corvair stash "buy-out" just recently. Among the spoils is a super clean 66 corsa turbo with a telescoping wheel. I need to check, but the owner thinks it has fast ratio steering as well.

Turbo engine has been replaced with a 140 (no carbs) I am told it dropped a seat.

What is it worth???
I have an offer of $1,000.00 from a local non corvair guy.

Based on the info and pictures, IMO I would value the car around $1500. The options are always a factor for value, but rust is usally the big factor for a project. If it has the QSB and arms I would ask around $2000. I wish I lived closer I would make you a solid offer.

I agree, hard to tell by the pictures but it looks to be complete. I am thinking $1500 is fair.

I paid $1200 for a car not nearly as well optioned as that one. Also, hard to tell but in the pictures, it appears to have tinted windows. Compare the view to the VW in the background.

I was kinda thinking tinted glass as well. For value, I'd say 1200 max, only because of your position as the buyer and it's part of a package. Lot of unknowns and the car looks very far from being operable. You'd put 1500 (motor,brakes, gas tank, battery, tires) into it to make it a good driving/stopping car, and still only have a 2500 car with the paint and interior in poor shape. I'd still buy it - it's a great car to sit on until the market comes back. OK, I'd buy it 'cause I've got a serious addiction to '66 Corsas, but that's another thread.

Hard to tell if it is really faded out Mist Blue or Chateau Slate. It would be nice if it was Chateau Slate. It also looks like it has 65' WW trim.

I am with Eric if it is as solid as it looks, $1500 or 2k with QSB. It is not hard to eat up 2-3k in metal work. Much better to buy solid up front.

From the hue in the pics, id say the car is Mist blue.

Looks like it may be a 1965 Corsa coupe, to me. I'm not seeing the standard padded dash of 1966. It looks like someone has customized the front cowl air grille, too. Seems to have no slots.
Anyway, I paid $2500 for my 1966 Corsa Turbo Coupe w/ tele wheel & fact. QS.
I felt I got a great deal, since mine is nearly 100% free of rust and it has a great interior, too.

It may also be a very early 66' car. I pieces out a LOS 66' Corsa 180 coupe years ago. It was vin #989. It came from the original owner. It had a 65 rear seat and side panels, 66 front seat and door panels, no padded dash. It was a strange car, but original down to the paint.

You know, I read the question wrong - I agree sell for 1500, I was thinking you had to make an offer on it to buy it. I think you could even pull the column (put back a standard), clean it up a bit and still sell it for 1500.

I won't be hauling it down until next week though. I bought 1 ford van full of transaxles. 3 vw vans full of engines and heads. 3 LM corvairs. 1 ford crown vic with lots of corvair parts.

Most of the stuff is scrap other than two lm's.

I cant imagine that this car was once red. Unless the faded red primer is in fact faded red paint.
More investigating is needed.
