BUT!

I just found the synopsis....

Corvair in a demo derby. I don't like it. I already strongly disliked Top Gear America, and I really doubt this is a good thing.

Yea demo Derby with a corvair involved doesn't sound good.

Well, the good thing is, even if it is bad, there won't be too many people watching! Lets hope they get some facts and know the difference between an early and a late model. More that likely they will do as much as they can to make it look disastrous. Lets hope not and hope it holds up to the testing. It will probably flip its belt off, drop its engine, break a clutch cable, vapor lock, shear the distributor gears and soak the pavement in oil before they get it to flip over, less they have a mechanic that knows Vairs.

Sadly, the Hosts of USA Top Gear come off like juvenile punks and can't even come close to the originality of the UK Top Gear show. The hosts are the "wimpy" by comparison....they copy UK show formats verbatum.
Using a Corvair in their show bodes ominously....and if they're just trying to get a laugh, then, they are incompetant.
You see that show where they off-roaded that big white Cadillac? Jumping mounds enough to bend the frame? You know how many legitamate Stuntmen have had their backs broken??? Dukes of Hazard, etc. .
What I'm getting at, is that they do stupid things that stupid kids will try to emulate/copy on U TUBE.
I think if the show turns out bogus, people should complain.
Funny though....I always thought it would be cool if Top Gear UK would feature a Corvair in a segment.

Top Gear UK is hilarious. Top Gear USA is stupid and boring. I've tried to watch three episodes of the USA version, and it's just idiotic and boring.

I remember seeing a Corvair in a Demolition Durby one time back in the 1970's. It's a stupid choice. In D-Durbies they are not allowed to crash head on. They usually back into each other. The Vair was out in 2 seconds when a smack to the rear broke off the fuel pump! So much for that!
Sure the American show is stupid... but it beats anything on MTV!

As far as the show goes: A stupid show for a stipid audience. It's all part of the dumbing down process our world is so intent on fostering. I'm voting for Duaine Hector Alexandro Mountain Dew Camacho for President only if Not Shure Isn't running. Anybody know the movie reference?

Everybody could use a tweak now and then, if they visit the forum, they just might learn something correct about our cars. Maybe they already know something true about the Vair and will point it out. Or if they use a mechanically sound car(maybe, probably not) they'll learn very quickly on their own. Tanner is a good driver, maybe he knows already. If they can't take a little good natured ribbing from our forum, they need to stay out of show business.

But odds are they won't show the Vair in a positive light. Prove us wrong. Please!

I kinda like Top Gear US.It's like the Three Stooges on wheels.Some of their antics are amusing and entertaining in a bizzare sort of way.Don't think they'll be as hard on the Corvair than the Brits would be.At least I hope not.Only concern is that they'll destroy a decent car.

Somebody that drops by the forum from time to time made mention to me on FB that Jeremy Clarkson's wife owns a EM Spyder. I dug around the net a little, but can't find a reference to it. Would be cool if it was true!

I watched the most recent TG US last night. I think the problems are two fold. #1 they obviously don't have the mega budget of the UK program. #2 they aren't nearly as critical of the vehicles they drive as the UK cast is.
