Corvair Center What is the next part that is going to HAVE to be made? Posted by:

() Date: February 21, 2012 04:23PM What part do you think is the next part that is going to be an issue for the Corvair? I'm not talking about 63 rear grills, front trim bars, thermister, tires (change the size) or even fuel pumps(you can add an electric). I am thinking of a part that is needed for driving it could be a normal wear item that has never been a supply issue like brake shoes, heads, carbs, wheel bearings etc. The part might have just stopped being produced or is used on another car or there was plenty going around but it's getting harder to find then needed part. What do you think is going to be the next hard to get part in keeping your vair on the road? Re: What is the next part that is going to HAVE to be made? Posted by:

() Date: February 22, 2012 01:17AM You can "upgrade" your 60-61 brake shoes with 62-64 brake shoes. On the front all you have to do is.......change the brake shoes.... On the rear all you need to do is........change the park brake arms for one from a 62-64 and change the brake shoes! Simple....![]() Marco Padilla Classics Of Los Angeles Los Angeles Ca (San Fernando Valley) 91352 and 91325 Los Angeles Ca (San Gabriel Valley) 91706 ( Some weekends) (213)272-3239 WWW.Coming-to-a-Website-near_you.Com Ebay:ClassicsOfLosAngeles 66 Monza Vert 140hp/4speed 62 Monza Wagon 140hp/PG 62 Rampside 110hp/4speed 63 Rampside 110hp/4speed 63 Greenbrier 8 Door 80hp?/PG 68 Monza 140hp/4Speed 68 Monza Vert 140hp/4Speed Re: What is the next part that is going to HAVE to be made? () Date: February 22, 2012 01:26AM As more Blocks wear in the Cam Bearing area... someone needs to find current bearing inserts that will fit with minor machine work. () Date: February 22, 2012 01:40AM Pacerace, I make sheet metal parts lol. This part will be made for one of our memebers and he will be sole distributor or whatever he wants to do with it. He will chime in when project is up and running. () Date: February 22, 2012 04:23AM Matt - Machining a block to accept two piece cam bearing seems difficult. Actually I suspect it would be easier to line bore the cam journals slightly larger and use a cam with oversized journals. Yeah You'd have to get the cam companies to do agree, but it's doable. () Date: February 22, 2012 04:25AM I'd say its going to be input shafts as Clark's says it is not going to run anymore. Of course, if there was a demand, that could change. Crawford Re: What is the next part that is going to HAVE to be made? Posted by:
