Modern 51R batteries fit early models without modifications and a lot cheaper.

I can get EM batteries locally (Ashland, KY) for around the same price.
The vendor said that a portable generator used on strip mines requires two of them, so that's why they're in stock.

I asked late last fall (Nov?) at the local chevy dealer and they said they could get me a delco for 76.00 if I recall correctly and the core wasn't an issue.

I neglected to mention the $115 unit is a TAR TOP!!!!.
No where at any of the other sources mentioned are you getting that.
