I'm really proud to be in Charlie's New Book, this is a great addition to the Corvair Library, over 200 pages of information, pictures, and History.

I noticed it specifically mentioned that the "Dana" car was a Willow run car, and not a Los Angeles built car. I think Charlie forgot that the Van Nuys plant stop building Corvairs in 1967. The Van Nuys plant stop building Corvairs to concentrate on Nova and other model production. All Corvairs from 1967 to end of production in 1969 were built in the Corvair home plant Willow Run. Corvairs were built at Van Nuys for only 3 model years, 1963, 1965 and 1966. I always wondered about why not 1964??

I got mine in yesterdays mail. YSB011

I to feel honored to get mentioned in conjunction with YS-318, Byron Shaw. If you look real close and know what you are reading you can make out Handy Car Car just behind the front tire.

The picture is not from the book but is the same picture used.

Boy, this afternoon I felt a little like Steve Martin in "The Jerk". grinning smiley
Running over to my wife to tell her "Hey look! I'm somebody...my old car is in the book."
I like the photo he selected too. Aside from the "Team Anhydrous" on the rear quarter, it looks the way I built it.

Charlie did a great job with the delicate honorable mentions of a few clones.
Some of which have more actual racing history than a few of the "YS" tagged cars.

Got mine yesterday. I think I cried when I had to leave it at home so I'd actually work today. I enjoy that facts and figures, but the stories of the racing and camraderie of the late 60's/early 70's is what really does it for me. I'm sure there are some things we'll never know, but what we do know represents such an neat story about something that really happened against all odds. The only thing I don't like about it is that I'm not going to be doing much real car work for the next couple weeks because I can't hardly put the book down. GREAT book Charlie!!

You are all making me jealous as my copy has not yet arrived. Canada Post probably thinks it is a fine wine and needs to age a little before delivery!

I got both of mine last week, YSB 070 and YSB 199. He isn't doing 300# books yet or I would have gotten one for Ys-320 too.

Got my copy YSB135. I don't see YS135 listed as a number in the Yenko registry sad smiley Was that YS number ever issued? Why were there gaps in the numbering scheme? Is there a list of actual YS tag numbers issued? Looks like its going to be a great read.
