If it's photoshop, someone went to a LOT of trouble with the stuff visible through the glass.

Vairy cool - I've never seen that before!
Looks like it was at a Corvair convention somewhere...
Where did you find the picture?

Load it up with luggage and 8 passengers and you have Corvair style transport at the speed of a glacier.

Looks real to me. Most likely an Airport Limo. Makes sense to use a Lakewood since you have room for luggage in front and back. Back in the days before passenger vans coach builders would stretch just about any car to get people from the Airport to resorts. There are quite a few of them here.

I got it from a model car message board. He wants to know where it's from, too.

Am I the only old person here? That car was at the 1978 CORSA Convention in San Diego. I have a Kodachrome slide of it somewhere...

Seth Emerson verifies Bob's answer;

"San Diego Convention 1978. Entered in Concours, I believe. Seth"

I lived in SD in 1978... had Vairs.... just didn't do the club thing....

Armbruster-Stageway Coaches used to make stuff like this. I used to live in Hershey and this company made 62 Chevy wagons for the Milton Hershey School to transport the boys. They cut out the middle and welded in more to accomodate 14 people, In 1968 they made Pontiac Catalinas for the school and Hershey used them until the 80's. Not sure if they are the one's who did the Corvair wagons though.

Glad the pic itself is explained. Now, does the car still exist?
