Bought front left and right side wheel cylinders for my 64 Monza Vert. Vendor stated they would fit, but they do not. Diameter appears to be larger than what on car and openings in rear are almost parallel as opposed to close opposite directions on cylinders on the car. Further, the ones on the car have a lump-like protrusion on the casting where the line goes in while the ones received do not have that protrusion. Does the subject car require 1" cylinders or larger for the front?. The ones on the car are 1". Anyone have the answers? Thanks.

No answers?? The diameter of the original cylinders may be smaller than 1". Maybe 15/16.

We need pictures... Brakes are something that is only worked on occasionally.


Also... you need to talk to YOUR VENDOR first!! Parts may have been tagged wrong..

FC parts??

All Corvair cars had 15/16" rear cylinders and 7/8" front cylinders. FC's had 1" all the way around.

Brand purchased new is Centric. Vendor said description could be confusing or incorrect and no problem with refund. Originals on car are GM Delco Moraines, Dayton, O. Part #s: 5459718 and 5459717.

Looks like they may very well have sent FC cylinders. Size of body is larger than my originals.

Other vendors besides Clark's one that supports this page and others that support with information and help.

FC's are Huge compared to the car. Although GM did have 1" wheel Cyls for Spyders with Metalic Brakes, Butttt I do not believe this is your case.
