Leaking PG Cable?

My wagon has been sitting sense last fall with a bad gas tank. I was starting it every few weeks to keep my PG cable from leaking until one of my daughters left the glove box open and ran down the battery. It was so dead that my new fangled battery charger would not charge it.
It has been leaking for a month or so now and I just fixed my battery but have drained the tank to hopefully get it fixed soon.
My question is will just turning over the motor with out starting the car pump enough trans fluid to stop it leaking for a week or two?

Have to determine where the leak is. The o-ring from the cable into the transmission? Or is there a crack or break in the nylon cable housing?
When the vehicle sets, the touque-converter will drain down and overfill the transmission pan. Starting the engine draws the fluid back u and all is fine. But we have to make sure the o-ring is sealed properly and there are no cracks or damage to the cable housing.
A leaking pan gasket will leak also, but I have found the pan will leak, if bad from normal operation.
The cable can be repaired if there is a crack in the housing. The best way I have found is with a special heavy walled shrink tubing that has a poly-sealant inside coating. I have these kits available at the FanBelt Toss event.

It is the cable that is leaking not the o ring. I have a good cable and a repair kit for the one that is in the car now I am just not able to fix or replace it right at the moment.
Do you think that cranking the motor over for a little bit would refill the torque converter or does the engine need to be started?

That has been done. Corvairs like to go out for a run from time to time anywho.
What I recommend is having a good or repaired cable ready to go.... so the swap out job can be done when time permits. I have seen cable cracks-leaks up in the tunnel area on some Corvairs.
Also try to run the cable as streight into the transmission as possible. The 1965 assembly manual for example, has the cable making a nasty bend at the rear underboby panel to clear the parking brake cable before entering the transmission.

I do not believe there would be enough pump action to refill the T-converter by just spinning the starter.
Long time cranking and heating up the starter would also not be a good practice.
