I chose a PG car as my next autocross car to use up the 4 i have laying around. Given that they are "bullet proof", the Diff will go before the trans does...

Some people are way out of touch with reality.

The beauty there is that the torque convertor takes most of the shock and makes the diffs life easier.

I had one in an old auto-x car years ago that cost much more than that to build.
The Powerglide was tricked out, had a 3000 stahl converter and a 3.89 4 spider posi. It was awesome to auto-x as all you had to think about was driving.

Something tells me that this one isn't built like that. If it weren't an hour's drive from me I'd go look at it and measure the thickness of dirt/grease on the case smiling smiley

Billy Bruce's 12-ish second QTR ET black EM turbo racecar runs a PG. I believe he just leaves it in first to prevent detonation on the upshift. There's no market for used PG's because they are so "bulletproof."

Texas Yenko Dude,

All I ever think about when autocrossing is driving. With 3.27 gears, my 4-speed car is good for 70 mph at 7000 rpm. I have never had to shift back to first on a course and have only been on two courses where I ever used third.

On the NYC Craigs List I recently saw a LM Sport Sedan advertised as a "4-door Coupe" The seller would fit right in the Congress.
