() Date: July 26, 2011 06:21PM Started the repaint on my corsa vert today . It was last redone in 86 , tore it apart this morning and started blocking after lunch , there is no rust and only a few little dings and nicks to take care of so it will be done by next week. I took a few pics of the condition B4 work started to show the condition of the car B4 we started . There were never any repairs done , not bad for a car that spent its life here in PA , dispite what west coasters think, there are a lot of great cars back east if you know where to look. It will be painted Base-Clear in its original AT color. () Date: July 26, 2011 07:17PM John: You were kind enough to let me know about this car back in 2009 before you bought it yourself. My recollection was that the car had rusted through on the underside of the driver's door. so I checked my photos. Here's what I recorded: ![]() Re: ![]() Posted by:

() Date: August 04, 2011 01:50PM A few pics from Tuesday , a lot of the final blocking is finished, doors will be removed again today and jams painted tonight along with sealer on the whole car to get it ready for finish paint on Fri. or Sat. will be back on the road by Wed. next week. So very little repair was needed so the job went very quick and easy. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/04/2011 01:52PM by firevair66. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: ![]() Posted by:

() Date: August 04, 2011 04:17PM What a great find! Super condition. I moved to the Left Coast in 1976 from up-state NY and vowed to never mess with rust again. Well.... we do get it out here also. AT least a bit. But it is usually the lower windshield strip and sometimes the hinge panels on Late models Wheel wells can get it here on earlies. Then there is the 1970's Surfer who left all his wet salty gear in the trunk for years!!! That is going to be a beauty when it's got a new skin of paint. Congrats! () Date: August 08, 2011 08:26AM Firevair66- With so many types of paint out there, how did you decide on Base-Clear? What brand of paint are you doing? Re: ![]() Posted by:
firevair66
() Date: August 08, 2011 08:53AM The original color is Artesian Turquoise , base-clear is the easiest to repair and blend if needed in the future. It will be done in DuPont. It may not get finished this week due to the high humid conditions around here.
