Anyone Own an Atlas 2 Post Lift???smiling bouncing smiley
Posted by: ihscomputers ()

I am desperately seeking feedback from actual owners of an Atlas 2 post lift, especially folks that have owned them for many years.

They are primarily sold by gregsmithequipment.com.

Would you buy it again?

Any problems?

Problems getting repair parts?

Were you concerned that these lifts appear to lack the ALI/ETL certification?

Why an Eagle?

From whom are you purchasing it and for what price?

Dean,

Buying direct from them in NC. ( I guess as I contacted them thru their website). Price and freight was the main reason. I downloaded the assembly and operations manuals. I am near Chattanooga and the freight was really reasonable.

9000# 2 postlift. Model MTP-9A.

emailed with a guy named Rick Peters, RickP@eagleequip.com

Hope the info helps.

Ed,

Did you purchase this lift yet?

I saw it listed for $1499.00...is that what you paid?

How much was the freight charge??

I saw the video and like what I see so far.

After 30+ hours of research, several calls to lift company sales reps and visits to local repair shops to see their lifts in action, I have finally decided to purchase.....

drumroll, please....

The Direct Pro-9d 2 post lift from Donna at Derek Weaver Company.

It's on sale for $1895.00 and freight from Texas to Georgia is $261.00.

Once the leased garage space is finished, I'll have Donna ship it to me.

I plan to have a local company install it for me since I am still somewhat recovering from hernia surgery.

I plan to post photos of the garage space and the lift installation etc.

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy....am I ever excited! smiling bouncing smiley smileys with beer

Dean,

Have not ordered it yet. That is the quoted price and freight is $125 delivered to my work address. Have two buddies that are going to help put it up in trade for some time on the lift!

I hope to order it in July. I want to try to detail the engine compartment this fall/ winter.

Take pics of yours when up!

I have a Forward two post lift in my home garage and have had it for about 15 years. It really works great and I have never had cause to call for service! I bought it from a rep in my area that sells the lifts to various local garages. That way if there is a problem they can come service it or order parts etc... nothing like local service from a guy you have met and had a conversation with!

At the time it was $1800 for a made in US 7K model. I don't know if you can even touch that today or even buy a US made model for that matter.

I also have a China made 4 post in my storage area that works fine but it is A LOT slower being 120v vs. 220v. It just stacks cars to save space though so I don't expect much.

I like the 2 post much better for access to just about everything.

YMMV.

I ran into a guy today who sells these and it has rollers on it and you can move it in or out of your garage,,any of you guys know about this one? I think the 2 post would give you more working room,,does the 2 post lift the car from the jacking pads under the body? We started talking when was filling up the vair at the gas station,,he has a weird vair fiberglass buggy he needs a motor for and said we can trade.

I have both styles and I much prefer the two post to actually work on the car.Try to change tires, work on suspension, get to the rockers, etc... much more difficult and you have to use a jack on the hoist and work around the wide platform. It is nice to wheel it over to the other side of the warehouse if necessary though. Again it lifts SLOW because it is 110v and the pump etc is sized as such.
