() Date: May 25, 2011 04:54AM --Dave,the 'right' belt is a 'wrapped' 3/8", 3xv560 or something, vendors have them..keep an eye on the belt,DAILY,they DO stretch in the first few weeks, and will flip..it's also possible the pulleys-especially the fan bearing- are out of alignment;the fan bearing shaft has been known to get loose in the upper CC cover, and pull out.. () Date: May 25, 2011 03:05PM Just one more question and I'll drop this. I've just read every Corvair manual I have regarding proper belt tension and am just not sure if I should take it back to Goodyear or not. With the engine totally cold, I CAN move the alternator vanes with a finger but it's not all that easy. I don't know "pounds" of pressure by feel but it seems like this is too tight. ----------------------------- Dave Columbus, OH '66 Monza convertible '73 Eldorado convertible [get.google.com] Re: Please tell me I didn't fry it Posted by:

() Date: May 25, 2011 04:54PM You should be able to push the alt fan with 1 finger with some resistance on a cold engine. Do you have any Corvair buddies near you that can assist you, the belt tension is a simple adjustment every Corvair owner should know how to make.
