I was just playing around and bolted an 18X9.5 rear wheel from my BMW on my LM and amazingly, it looked like it would work (offset is 25mm, not sure what backspacing that works out to be).

So that got me thinking, what's the widest wheel anybody's running out there on a street-driven LM?

25.4 mm is 1"

Backspace is 4.25", unless you're counting edge to edge then it's really a 9" wheel with 4" backspace.

Search posts by "provair", I think he fit 10.5".

Yup, 4.25 backspacing. I was surprised that such a wide wheel seemed to fit.

More to the point, has anybody ever put a 10" wide wheel under and LM? I am considering a set of used wheels that I really like, but the rears are 10 inches wide.

Any experience out there?

Ron. Pro vair changed the game by mods to the arm so it was easy for Tony to fit 18X10" wheels in the rear and if I remember Tony cut or rolled the lip?

Stop by Mr. Evens home to see this Yellow Corsa 7 show me how he had 12"tires on the rear. More work then most would to in a lift time... a work of art.

17 x 8's with 4.5 inches of back space on all 4. Tires are 215 40 17's. I have about 1/4 inch clearence on the bottom front lip of the front wheels and I only had to "roll" a small portion of one front fender so the tires wouldnt rub.

Oh yea that's right, he cut out and boxed the control arms to fit the 10" wheels. He also extended the lower shock mount.

Ones there is nothing in the way??

15x10, 6" backspace with a 5/8" spacer. rolled/cut inner fenders.
Tires are Hoosier A6, 275-35-15

Its not so much wheel size as it is how tall tire is.

10- 11 with fairly simple modifications, and the right backspace.

If only we could still get optimally sized 15" tires in non-racing form. Yes 205/60-15s are the right diameter but come on, they're 205.

I think he might be talking about this car? It is Archibald Evans Supervair.
I think those are 295 50's in the rear? Yhey are on 15x10 modified Camaro rally wheels.

I wonder what is going on with it? have you seen it lately? This was a couple of years ago. I think he had it running at that point. I would think it's finished now?

I called Mr. Evens a weeka go and was told a crazy 0-60 time and some Company will be getting pictures of SuperVair. I have CRS so you need to call for his times..
